The meeting will take place in Zagreb, the capital and largest city of Croatia. In Zagreb, you will find the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences and important administrative and military authorities. As the center of finances and commerce, Zagreb has regional and national weight. As the residence of the catholic archbishop, Zagreb has splendid churches. It also has impressive nobility palaces, as well as a multiplicity of museums and other exhibition places. Indeed, Zagreb is a city of culture with vivid nightlife. Despite having almost a thousand years of history, Zagreb is a young and lively city. The old town of Zagreb is a feast for senses with beautiful restaurants and cafés surrounded by typical facades and houses, opulent gardens and impressive neo-gothic buildings. So come and try Croatian hospitality.

Our meeting will take place in the Hotel Dubrovnik, a four-star hotel and a distinctive part of Zagreb's architectural heritage. The vintage wing, built in 1929 was extended in 1982 with a tastefully designed modern wing. Today the Hotel Dubrovnik has 214 rooms and offers a balance of tradition, excellent service and modern facilities in the heart of the City. Accommodation

A contingent of rooms has been negotiated with the Hotel Dubrovnik for the meeting at a special price. For booking one of these rooms, please use the following link.

Then write: CURE into the field "access code" and click on "modify". you can now click on the "check-in date" and you will see the available days in green. Please mark the days you want to stay in the hotel. Please also adjust the number of rooms and persons (default setting is one room for two adults). If you have made changes, then please click again "modify" to refresh the page. In the next step, a selection of rooms will appear that you can book. Please click on "book". A new page will open where you can enter your personal details.

Prices are:

  • app. 95 € for single rooms/single occupancy
  • app 125 € for double rooms/double occupancy

Rates include breakfast, VAT and WiFi.

The number of rooms at the Hotel Dubrovnik at the reduced rate is limited. Therefore, please make your bookings as soon as possible.

Participants can also choose an accommodation on their own. Several other hotels are nearby.

 

Catering and Excursions

ProteoCure is doing all possible to provide as much of the catering as possible and to pay for the social events for all the participants. However, as we cannot foresee our financial situation, it may be possible that participants need to pay for the conference dinner or for the one or the other excursion on their own.

 

Travel

Zagreb can be reached by car, train and air travel

  • Arrival by air travel
    • Zagreb Franjo Tudman Airport in Zagreb is the largest and busiest airport in Croatia. It is served by all major and several smaller European airlines. It is about 19 km away from Zagreb.
    • At the airport, you can take the airport shuttle that is operating between Zagreb airport and the Zagreb Central Bus Terminal. The ride takes around 35 - 40 minutes and the price of a one-way ticket that can be bought on the bus is 6 €. The shuttle bus service runs every 30 min or on plane landing.     • Alternatively, you can take the ZET Bus line no. 290. Departures are scheduled every 35 minutes starting and ending at Kvaternik Square. The bus has 17 stops between the airport and the Kvaternik Square. One way tickets can be bought in the bus at a price of 2 €.

    • A taxi stand is also available at the Passenger Terminal, located in the vicinity of the Ground floor Arrivals. Apart from cash, Taxi drivers also take most credit cards and online payment systems but they do not take Diners or American Express credit cards. Taxi fare from airport to the Hotel Dubrovnik should be 32 €.
    • The hotel offers a transfer service from and to the airport at 30 € for up to three people and 36 € for up to six people
       
  • Arrival by train
    • International lines end at Zagreb main station, also called Glavni kolodvor. This station is located within the city center. Getting to the main square (Jelacic Square) and the Dubrovnik Hotel can easily be done on foot and should not take more than 15 minutes. Alternatively, public transport can be taken. Tram lines No.6 and No.13 stop right next to the main station, on the northern side, and there are only two stops tp the Jelacic Square and the Hotel Dubrovnik. The trams are recognizable by their blue color and a large sign on the front indicating the tram line and number. Tram ride takes about 5-6 minutes and costs about 1 €. The ticket can be bought in cash  from the driver or by cash or bank card at the newspaper stand
  • Arrival by car
    • The hotel is easily accessible by car. Parking is possible in the Hotel Dubrovnik garage at a rate of 25€ per day.
